Entra ID synchronization
Purpose:
Entra ID synchronization allows users in Lynes to be synchronized with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) for easier management of user data and groups.
Required qualifications:
- Users & Teams in Lynes
- Administrator rights in Entra ID
Step 1 – Connect Entra ID
- Click on gear icon at the bottom of the menu on the left in Lynes.
- Select your organization.
- Go to Users & Teams.
- Click on Connect Entra ID.
- Sign in with your Microsoft account or generate a link and send it to a colleague with admin rights in your Entra ID.
- Give the app the necessary permissions.
Step 2 – Configure synchronization
Groups:
- Choose whether all users in Entra should be synchronized or only selected groups (e.g. "telephony", "switchboard" or "lynes").
Field:
- Standard fields that are synced: first name, last name, display name, and email.
- To sync more fields, click + and select the fields you want to link.
Notices:
- Specify who or who should receive notifications about changes.
- You can select one or more users and/or email addresses.
- If you select users, the notifications will appear under Notifications in Lynes.
Overview:
- Choose between manual synchronization (manually started) or daily synchronization (occurs automatically during the night).
Step 3 – Manage users
- When synchronization is active, you can:
- Connect existing Lynes users to Entra ID users.
- Create new users based on Entra ID information.
- Users who should not be synchronized can be marked as ignored in the list of available users.
Other information
- Deleted users: If a user is deleted in Entra ID, it is not automatically deleted in Lynes. After synchronization, these will appear under Delete Entra ID user for manual handling.
- Reactivation: Turning off sync does not delete any data. Re-enabling it requires reconfiguring all settings.
